Through the use of a vibration sensor, "air grinding" is kept to a minimum, increasing machine efficiency. At the start of the machine cycle, the vibration sensor "listens" for contact of the wheel to automatically switch the feed rate from rapid approach to first grind speed thereby avoiding collisions.
