The process capability of a lathe machine or a grinder can be controlled by monitoring the critical sizes at the end of the cycles and manually or automatically compensating the machine's numeric control. Marposs supplies standard and custom made systems for any type of lathe machine, consisting of standard data processing electronics, with or without statistics, and gauging stations engineered for any particular requirement. Such stations incorporate contact and/or non-contact technologies, ranging from the simplest with few measurements, to the most complex performing numerous measurements. They can be specific for a part, retoolable for group of parts, or flexible within defined ranges. Different methods of part feeding such as manual loading, gravity chute, automatic gantry loader or robot can be readily accommodated to the lathe machine area layout.
